It's always nice to be apart of a growing economy, I first moved here almost 12 years ago and SLC has been on the constant rise ever since. Forbes.com just released their list of the top 20 fastest growing cities in the U.S Salt Lake came in at number 5 on the list with some pretty intersting stats.
2012 Population growth rate: 1.5%
2013 Population growth rate: 1.5%
Job growth rate: 2.8%
Unemployment: 4.8%
Gross Metro Product: 5.3%
Median salary: $60,000
3 Texas cities Austin, Houston, and Dallas took the top 3 slots respectively with Raleigh, NC coming in at number 4 on the list. Also, got to give a honorable mention to Provo finishing in the top 10 at #7 and Ogden at #20 on the list.
Guess that's why were finally getting a Popeye's chicken and Dunkin Donuts huh...lol. Either way, way to go SLC!

Whether it has to do with the fact that Salt Lake and the whole state of Utah is very family oriented, The folks who just want to get that extra tax break at the end of the year, or we're just down right freaks....Salt Lake City has come in 3rd on Men's Health Magazines list of Cities that have the most babies, I can't say that i'm surprised seeing as that we're also 5th for cities that are the most sexually active.
So there....for anyone who says SLC is a conservative and dull town, it's only because most of us are in a bedroom somewhere getting busy! :)

As a fan of Hip Hop.. not just the music, but the culture.. I was so excited to see 2 west coast legends on the same stage! Plus I loved how this years Summer Jam was in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. I think all we were missing was Dr Dre! (YEAH RIGHT... He's been on the DL for a minute now haha) But man, it was exciting to see Tha Dogg Pound too. So many DPGC classics on my MP3 player including a catalog of 12 inches in my basement! (But some of ya'll don't know what I'm talking about LOL) Then to see WC kill it with Ice Cube... Most would pay $50++ for a ticket and downtown experience as this years Summer Jam.. but we hooked it up for just $25 :) And I'm happy to tell ya that we OVERSOLD OUT! hahah.. Meaning we sold 5000 tickets and released an extra 500 at the door. 5500 plus listeners experienced the same sensation I did. The up and coming West Coast artists that opened the show also did they damn thang!
Big ups to those that came to the after party too! Sadly I had to go right when Chino4Real came on.. morning show duties called ;) but from what I seen, we had a packed house there too! Shout out to my boy Judon with J.E.T. Limousine for the ride to the show, after party, and back to the crib!
I HAD A BLAST!... and now I wonder like many here at Millcreek Broadcasting... How are we going to top this show, next year??... hmmmm
Thank you everyone that came to this years Summer Jam!
Peace Fam
