Regardless of how fans may feel about Gordon Hayward, his numbers demonstrate that he deserves to be a man in demand when it comes to the NBA.
As Hayward goes through many changes throughout the summer, such as getting married, making it on the USA National Team and finally, having the Jazz match an offer he received from the Charlotte Hornets; despite of having the opportunity to play for multiple teams; Hayward has decided to stay in Utah.
He is a multidimensional player who has averaged 16.2 points a game, while grabbing 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds. He is a player that has a great opportunity to make the USA’s team roster this summer, this means that he has the opportunity to become a candidate for the Olympic roster in 2016.
Fans on the other hand, have been questioning whether Hayward is worth the money. With him not being a featured scorer last year, fans were blaming the offensive inefficiency oh him. Nonetheless, Jazz fans should be thankful Hayward is still with the team.
“Everybody around the team knows the tradition, so there’s a legacy to uphold,” stated Hayward. “I take a lot of pride in that every time I put on the jersey. You’ve got to take pride in your organization and your franchise. Utah is definitely one that is easy to take pride in.”
What do you think? Is Hayward being over paid to return to the Jazz? Or are you willing to give him a second opportunity to grow as a player?
