Is Obama Falling On Hard Times?

President Obama’s credit card was rejected at a New York restaurant last month, while he was visiting the United Nations.

“It turned out I guess I don’t use it enough –so they thought there was fraud going on. Fortunately, Michelle had hers,” Obama said at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Friday.

“I was trying to explain to the waitress, ‘No really, I think that I’ve, uh, been paying my bills.’ So even I’m affected by this,” he added.

Obama narrated the story as he signed an executive order on identity theft.

The order commands chip-and-pin technology on federal government credit and debit cards. It also provides new and improved help for victims of identity theft and finally, it works with businesses to encourage more identity theft prevention measures.

What is your opinion on the story? Should his credit card have been declined? And do you truly believe that the new executive order will make a difference in Identity Theft?

Zuckerberg Donates $25 Million To Ebola Funds

Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder; and his wife Priscilla Chan have announced on Tuesday that they will donate $25 million to the Centers for Disease Control Foundation.

The outbreak of Ebola in West Africa has infected at least 8,000 people and killed more than 4,000, which makes it the worst in history. The world Health Organization has estimated that they will need at least $1 Billion to stop it.

Zuckerberg’s donation will provide funds that are well needed, but how will they be used?

The CDC director Tom Frieden, said, “This significant contribution from Mark Zuckerberg and Dr. Priscilla Chan will help us rapidly advance the fight against Ebola.”

He then added that the generous donation “will provide flexible funding allowing [the] CDC to address the most pressing needs as the epidemic shifts and evolves.”

The donation is going to the CDC Foundation’s Global Disaster Response Fund, this will help address needs that are identified by the CDC.

“It’s easy to say Ebola is still small compared to other diseases of that it’s mostly in other countries and won’t affect us,” wrote Zuckerberg.

“But if we don’t get this under control soon, then it will spread and become an epidemic we have to deal with for decades to come," he added.

What do you think about his generous donation?

National Guard Official Refers To Ferguson Protesters As The N-Word

As the case of Michael Brown continues, we have recently seen that the National Guard was brought into Ferguson to supposedly, help “calm” things in the town.

Yet, according to CNN host Don Lemon, who has spent several days reporting from Ferguson; said on Tuesday that a member of the National Guard had called protestors the n-word.

As CNN aired a town hall event about the racial divide in the United States, a member of the audience asked what precautions could be used to prevent officers from overreacting when dealing with African-American men.

The Black Sphere’s Kevin Jackson said that putting body cameras on officers can change the dynamic in police stops.

“If there is a camera, he knows he’s got to check himself, and if you know an officer has a camera, you also have to check yourself,” explained Jackson.

Lemon then added that cameras could also make a “certain type of person” think twice before they decide to go into law enforcement to begin with.

“Last night, one of my producers said that they came in contact with one of the members of the National Guard. And they said, ‘You want to get out of here because you’re white. Because there n-words, you know, you never know what they’re going to do,’” Said Lemon.

The CNN host added that this was a true story, “I kid you not. 2014, a member of the National Guard, and my producer doesn’t lie,” he added.

What is your opinion on this? Should the member of the National Guard be punished in some way for using racial slurs? Or is it his Freedom of Speech to say exactly how he feels about the situation? Let us know what you think.
