Within the first 24 hours, Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” video broke the record for the most VEVO views within a day.
Nicki’s artwork for her “Anaconda” single definitely turned some heads, yet when the video was released, it made an even larger impression on her fans. The video accumulated 19.6 million views over the first 24 hours of being released.
The insane amount of views broke VEVO’s record for the most views within a 24 hour stretch. Beating Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop”, which held the top spot with 12.3 million views.
But it doesn’t stop there, the video continues to climb to the top, currently sitting at about 39 million views. It is possible that the video still has a few more records to break.
Nicki is scheduled to perform her single at this year’s MTV VMA’s, which is predicted to be just as surprising of a show as the video.
What do you think about Nicki’s newest video? Does it deserve all of the attention it’s receiving? Or nah?
For quite some time now, Nicki Minaj and Drake have teased their fans with the idea that there is something between the two. Their on-going flirtation has taken yet another step as Nicki fuels the fire in her latest single “Anaconda.”
As she recently released stills from her video, Nicki appears to be wearing fishnet tights and a bust-bearing bra while giving Drake “the lap dance of a lifetime.”
Between the images, the video clip and the artwork that Nicki released earlier this month, one can only imagine what the “Anaconda” video will turn out like.
The video is scheduled to drop on Wednesday August 20th, 2014.
What do you think? Could there possibly be more between Nicki and Drake? Or could this all be for show?
As heard in the past, Kanye West refers to himself as a creative genius. According to GQ magazine, West’s album; My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy -released in 2010- was named the best album of the 21st century. In the article, this is rationalized by the impact that the project has had; it also explains how powerful all of West’s projects have been.
“It could’ve been any one of the seven albums West released this century,” GQ says. “A portrait of a man seizing the spotlight, drowning in it, and then somehow finding a way to turn that harrowing experience into art. Anybody who wants to be famous or make music for a living—or do both at the same time—should be forced to listen to MBDTF first. The rest of us are free to enjoy it for the bloody, hard-won, titanic achievement that it is.”
In 2010, the album was reviewed by HipHopDX’s Editor-In-Chief at the time, Jake Paine; where it earned a 4.5 out of a 5.
“From nine-minute douchebag manifestos, to enlisting an A-list Grammy ensemble to piece-mealing his album out to the masses every Friday. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy defies logic and it ignores convention. Whether it’s acknowledging his mistakes, measuring his might, or fantasizing of wifing Kristina Rose, Kanye West finds a way to relate to all. He’s not forcing his hand, just reminding us that the biggest star we appointed in the last five years can still recognize our own fantasies, insecurities and desire for colorful music from his spaceship,” Paine wrote.
What is your opinion? Do you believe that My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy deserves the tittle of best album?
As an Australian airline approached its final destination at the Sydney Airport, an informative flight attendant advised passengers who were “under the influence” to flush their drugs before landing, because drug-sniffing police dogs were on hand at the destination.
Most of the passengers abroad the Jetstar flight were returning home Sunday night, after attending the Splendour in the Grass weekend music festival at Byron Bay.
According to Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph newspaper, the passengers were told there were “sniffer dogs and quarantine officers waiting in the domestic terminal,”
“If you need to dispose of anything you shouldn’t have, we suggest you flush it now,” he added. The newspaper said that the caution provoked passengers to rush to the toilets.
The airline claims that it routinely makes quarantine announcements on such flights that cross state borders. “The crew member’s words were poorly chosen and are plainly at odds with the professional standards we’d expect from our team,” added Jetstar.
The airline also said it was “addressing the matter with the cabin crew member involved,” but they did not give detail on any potential disciplinary action.
In your opinion, should the flight attendant be praised for the warning she gave or should she have to face a punishment? Would you appreciate it if you were faced in this situation? For example, flying from Colorado to Utah?
