Rap star T.I. has officially lost his gig as a spokesman for AXE body spray, just days after he was sentenced to 11 months in prison for violating the terms of his federal probation.
TMZ.com reports that AXE will "no longer feature T.I. in our promotional campaign" and has already removed the Grammy Award winning rapper from their official website.
A federal judge sentenced T.I. to 11 months in prison on Friday (October 15th), after he and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle was found to be in possession of ecstasy after a traffic stop on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on September 1st.
Yesterday (October 18th), T.I. appeared on Ryan Cameron's V103 radio show, where he discussed his pending jail sentence. The rap star vowed to never return to prison after his latest, upcoming stint in federal prison.
"I'm gonna take it a day at a time," T.I. explained. "I got a little while to plan. One thing I'm not gonna do is, I'm not gonna talk and make a whole lot of promises and do this or do that. I'm gonna speak more through my music and my actions. And I'm gonna let God lead me wherever that may be."
Not again T.I. !
11-Month sentence for drug violation shocks the "King."
On Friday T.I. pleaded for leniency before a judge but was met with little. His 11-month sentence was not the maximum term that could have been handed down but it is a lengthy bid, regardless. After the decision was handed down, Dwight Thomas, the Atlanta rapper’s attorney, spoke about his clients surprise at being sent back to prison. In comments made to Freddyo.com Thomas stated, “Of course we're disappointed in the sentencing. At the same time, it's far less than what the government asked for…Of course he's disappointed. This is not what he expected; this is not what he wants in his life at this point. The judge is giving him two weeks to self surrender.”
Earlier at the probation hearing, T.I. admitted he has drug problem and regretted that his addiction cause him to violate the terms of his probation. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the man born Clifford Harris told the judge, “I screwed up big time, and I'm sorry. I'm truly and sincerely sorry. I don't want and I don't need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life." CNN.com reports that Harris continued, "As I discovered in talking to my probation officer, I had many problems from my childhood. Now I am down to the disease of addiction. I need help, for me, my mother, my kids. I need the court to give me mercy. Judge, don't send me back to prison." That request was, of course, denied.
The Grand Hustle CEO’s already delayed new album, King Uncaged, was scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2010 but further postponement now seems likely.

Here we go again! Looks like T.I. has failed his drug test given by his parole officer, testing positive for marijuana and codeine. T.I. must now face the judge who cut almost nine-years off of his original prison sentence and allowed him to serve just one year. Three years probation isn't at all bad considering the circumstances.
Here is some background info. T.I. was stopped around 10:40PM on September 1st for allegedly making an illegal U-turn on the Sunset Strip. When officers searched the car they found ecstasy on the rapper and his wife"Tiny".
Now facing three possible violations of probation including possession of ecstasy, testing positive for opiates, and associating with a felon. The "King of The South" should take some time off and dwell on this situation. Best of luck TIP!
About 2 weeks ago T.I and his wife Tiny were arrested in L.A on a controlled substance charge, many were wondering what impact this latest arrest would have on T.I being on probation and all.
Well now...Apparently T.I.P is back in the studio finishing up his upcoming "King Uncaged" which is slated for Fall release date. Word also is that T.I's label Atlantic Records and his parole officer or whoever is "making the final decision on his case" have already had a couple meetings to smooth things over. All seems to be well for the moment, at least til T.I.P gets caught slippin again!!!
#1 Movie in the Country right now with Takers, a new CD on the way and so much more going for him T.I and his newlywed wife Tiny got arrested in Hollywood last night for Drug Possession.
According to All Hip Hop.com:
T.I. (born Clifford Harris) and Wifey were taken into custody by L.A County Sheriff after the cop smelled the sticky stuff emanting from TIP's Maybach. While they were both released at 4:00am this arrest could have a negative impact on T.I. as he is currently serving a 3 year probation from his 2007 gun charge.
T.I who is fresh from serving close to a year in jail was released in March of this year...we'll see how this one pans out for The King of The South, Leave your drugs and guns at home next time homie!!
