Meek Mill will remain to be incarcerated until at least October 11, 2014. The Philadelphia rapper pleaded to be released from jail, on Monday August 18, 2014; so that he could continue with his music career and be able to support his son and others as well.
Even though the rapper begged, the judge who sentenced him on a parole violation last month was unmoved. Instead, she ordered that Meek takes anger management classes and a parenting class.
Meek Mill has been on probation for about five years, and has not been accused of committing any crimes throughout that time. Yet, he failed a drug test in 2014 and appeared with a gun in a music video last year. Mill’s attorney claims that Meek had a prescription for the OxyContin after an injury and that the weapon used in the video was a water pistol, not an actual gun.
The rapper was reportedly incarcerated because of his behavior while on probation and was sentenced three-to-six months in jail.
What do you think? Was the judge right to have sentenced Meek Mill? Or has he done his time?
Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead in his home Monday morning. Authorities believe it was a suspected suicide.
According to the statement given by Marin County Sheriff’s Department, Williams was found unconscious and not breathing in his home around noon. The statement said that the investigation into his death is ongoing, but the coroner “suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia.”
A representative for Williams said that the actor had recently been battling severe depression. He went back to rehab last month to focus on his sobriety, alcohol was an issue for him. Williams also struggled with cocaine abuse in the early ‘80s, he was sober for 20 years; with the exception of time in rehab during 2006.
“This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings,” said Susan Schneider, Williams’ wife. “I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief.”
Williams was 63 years old.
