
50 Cent has signed on to play a pimp in a movie detailing Alaska's infamous serial killer, Robert Hansen.
According to The Anchorage Daily News, Curtis Jackson AKA 50 Cent has been cast for "Frozen Ground."
Also appearing in the film is Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage. Cage will star in the movie detailing the police investigation of Hansen, who preyed on prostitutes and strippers in the 1970s and early `80s in Anchorage.
Hansen confessed to killing 17 women; some he let loose in the Alaska wilderness and hunted.
Filming is scheduled to start in Anchorage in October.
Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith will star together in an untitled science-fiction film being directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
The movie is set 1,000 years in the future and features Jaden on an earth that has been abandoned after he and his estranged father crash their ship on the planet.
"The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project,β Shyamalan told EW in a statement.
Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment will executive produce the movie, along with Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.
The movie will reunite the proven, successful chemistry between Will and Jaden, who co-starred in 2006's hit movie The Pursuit of Happyness.
Will Smith also produced the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid, which has raked in over $350 million dollars across the world.
Rapper 50 Cent and Robert De Niro will work together again on a new upcoming movie titled Freelancers.
According to reports, 50 Cent and Robert De Niro are attached to the movie, which will be directed by Jessy Terrero, the man behind movies like Soul Plane, Gun and a variety of rap videos.
The movie stars 50 Cent as the son of a slain NYPD officer who follows in his father's footsteps and joins the police force.
Things take a turn for the worst when he joins Captain Vic Scarcone's (Robert De Niro) crew of rogue cops.
Freelancers is slated to begin shooting in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 18th.
Producers include 50 Cent and Randall Emmett for their film company Cheetah Vision, along with Fred Malmberg and Daniel Wagner.
Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith recently revealed that production on the remake to the movie Annie is underway.
Jada is executive producing the updated movie along with her husband Will Smith and new business partner Jay-Z, who is also an executive producer of the remake.
Jada gave an update about the films project in a recent interview with movie website TheFanCarpet. "Were still putting the project together putting our feelers out there and figuring out what our team is going to be," Jada Pinkett-Smith said. "But what I will say is that we're really excited about it and were working very hard."
In January, Will Smith and Jay-Z confirmed they were involved in executive producing the Annie remake. A theatrical release date was not available as of press time.
Rapper/filmmaker 50 Cent's new movie film Things Fall Apart will make its world premiere next week in Miami during the Miami International Film Festival.
Things Fall Apart stars 50 as "Deon Barnes," a football player for Michigan, who one day hopes of making to the NFL.
His plan goes off course when he realizes he has cancer.
50 Cent lost over 50 pounds for the role, by sustaining himself on a liquid diet during a nine-week period.
"Things Fall Apart was a true collaboration between 50 Cent and director Mario Van Peebles," MIFF Executive Director Jaie Laplante told AllHipHop.com. "50 Cent's physical transformation combined with Mario's vision for the film kept the story fresh, gritty and powerful. Fans in Miami will have a unique opportunity to see the film well before the rest of the world does."
According to Fif, who produced the movie through his Cheetah Vision Films with partner Randall Emmett, Things Fall Apart is based on a true story about one of his friends.
"I had to discipline myself not to actually have myself be in the physical state to convey the energy I felt,β 50 Cent told the Associated Press. βIt's a passion project for me.β
Mario Van Peebles directed Things Fall Apart, which also stars Ray Liotta and Lynn Whitfield.
The film's world premiere will be at the Gusman Center in Miami on March 5th.
