Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith will star together in an untitled science-fiction film being directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
The movie is set 1,000 years in the future and features Jaden on an earth that has been abandoned after he and his estranged father crash their ship on the planet.
"The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project,” Shyamalan told EW in a statement.
Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment will executive produce the movie, along with Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.
The movie will reunite the proven, successful chemistry between Will and Jaden, who co-starred in 2006's hit movie The Pursuit of Happyness.
Will Smith also produced the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid, which has raked in over $350 million dollars across the world.
Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith recently revealed that production on the remake to the movie Annie is underway.
Jada is executive producing the updated movie along with her husband Will Smith and new business partner Jay-Z, who is also an executive producer of the remake.
Jada gave an update about the films project in a recent interview with movie website TheFanCarpet. "Were still putting the project together putting our feelers out there and figuring out what our team is going to be," Jada Pinkett-Smith said. "But what I will say is that we're really excited about it and were working very hard."
In January, Will Smith and Jay-Z confirmed they were involved in executive producing the Annie remake. A theatrical release date was not available as of press time.
