We all love a good uplifiting story, right? A college kid who responded to adversity by becoming one of the top players of college football? If so, then don't read anymore.
I can't help but feel bad for Manti Te'o. Yes, he did lose his grandmother this past fall. She died on Sept. 11, 2012, at the age of 72. But this is where it gets weird. There isn't a SSA record there for a women named Lennay Marie Kekua. Nor an obituary or funeral announcements, and no mention in the Stanford student newspaper.
BTW, this is suppose to be Te'o's girlfriend...
There isn't even a report of a severe auto accident involving a Lennay Kekua. Background checks? Nothing. The Stanford registrar's office has no record that a Lennay Kekua ever enrolled. There's not even record's of her birth. Oh, but this chick got a Twitter and Instagram account!
Beginning to think this is a case for Sherlock Holmes!
The pics that are suppose to be Kekua, are pictures of a 22-year-old California woman who is not named Lennay Kekua and not a Stanford graduate. This girl hasn't even been in a severe car accident. Does she have leukemia? Nope! And the cold part? She never met Manti Te'o.
ESPN.com reports: Notre Dame says a story about Manti Te'o's girlfriend dying, which he said inspired him to play better as he helped the Fighting Irish get to the Discover BCS National Championship, turned out to be a hoax apparently perpetrated against the linebacker.
The university issued a news release Wednesday after Deadspin.com reported it could find no record of Lennay Kekua existing. Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said in a news conference Wednesday night that coaches were informed by Te'o and his parents on Dec. 26 that Te'o had been the victim of what appeared to be a hoax. Someone using a fictitious name "apparently ingratiated herself" with Te'o, the school said, then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had died of leukemia.
Ok, if that was my girl and if I met her online, I would do a little bit more research before I dropped "dead" (No pun intended) fell in love with this girl. Maybe he's just a nice guy? Maybe, he just fell in love very easy. Or, and I hate to say it, Or maybe he just wanted to get publicity so he could be the center of attention this season.
Well I have to ask, what do you think? Was he a victim? Or was he apart of this hoax? Weigh in with your thoughts now....

DMX might be nuts....but at least he is into the holiday spirit, check out this video of X spitting the classic Christmas tune "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer"
Not sure if we should take this seriously or he just smoked a massive blunt and is beyond high but Snoop Dogg announced in a news conference yesterday that he is no more, he is renaming himself Snoop Lion. He recently made a trip to Jamaica and says he connected with the spirit of Bob Marley and claims he is the new Bob Marley. One of the reasons Snoop cited for the sudden name change is that he wants to make music his kids and grandparents can listen to with out feeling ashamed of some of the content.
(from Yahoo news)
"I feel like I've always been Rastafarian," Snoop said of the spiritual Jamaican movement. While there, he said, he visited a temple, was renamed Snoop Lion and was also given the Ethiopian name Berhane, meaning "light of the world."
Snoop didn't explain why he was switching from "Dogg" to "Lion," but it's likely a reference to the Lion of Judah, a religious symbol popular in Rastafarian and Ethiopian culture.
Look for Snoop Lion to release a reggae album later this fall called "Reincarnated"
I suppose I can respect why he's doing it but to me and I'm sure fans all over the world he'll always be Big Snoop D-O-double-G!
Snoop Dogg has a treat for all of his fans and just in time for 4/20, a new EP "Stoners" that will be available thru digital download only. The 10 track EP will feature guest appearances by The Dogg Pound, Hustle Boyz, and Chris Starr. The EP will also serve as a teaser for Snoop's upcoming full length album "Reincarnated".
In other Snoop news, the rights to his new flick with Wiz Khalifa "Mac and Devin go to High School" has been aquired by Anchor Bay Entertainment, and should be out on DVD sometime this spring.
